Online workshop for the exchange of experiences between industrial energy communities with the participation of GISA
GISA, representing Getafe Genera, participated on September 29th in the online Workshop for the Exchange of Experiences between Industrial Energy Communities, organized within the framework of the European project AENEAM by AIN (Association of the Navarre Industry), Nasuvinsa and the Community Transformation Office of Navarre (OTC Navarra).
The event brought together various industrial energy community initiatives to exchange experiences, identify barriers, and discuss solutions to accelerate the deployment of energy communities in industrial environments.
During the workshop, Getafe Genera presented its experience as the first industrial energy community in the Community of Madrid. The discussion focused on the common challenges faced by industrial energy communities, including regulatory complexity, access to financing, electricity grid congestion, collective self-consumption models, energy surplus management, and community governance.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to learn about other initiatives developed in different parts of Spain and to contribute Getafe Genera's vision on emerging opportunities such as flexibility services, energy storage, demand management and new collaborative business models for business parks and industrial estates.
The exchange highlighted the growing interest in industrial energy communities as a tool to increase business competitiveness, reduce emissions and strengthen local energy resilience.
