The event brought together companies representing the municipality's productive sector and various economic industries, including aerospace, manufacturing, food, chemicals, and hospitality. Discussions focused on the development of a future local heating network, as well as strategies for addressing the challenges of decarbonizing industrial heating and cooling, reducing energy dependence, and ensuring a stable and affordable supply for businesses.

The meeting included the participation of Juan Contreras from MG Sustainable Engineering , a Swedish-based partner company in the GREENSPIRE project. Juan provided an initial overview of the project details and the study to be conducted in Getafe, and each company shared its current situation, challenges, and vision for how they could integrate into a project of this kind.

The meeting is part of the GREENSPIRE project (Green Strategies and Partnerships for Industrial Renewable Heat), funded by the European LIFE CET program, whose objective is to promote the use of renewable thermal energy sources and waste heat from industry to develop energy collaboration models between companies.

The next steps of the GREENSPIRE project will focus on preparing a study to assess the possibilities of energy collaboration regarding the use of industrial heat and cold in the business fabric of Getafe, for which it aspires to include as many companies as possible in Getafe that have an intensive use of heat and cold.
